Course Description
Succession planning must not be delayed until the current leadership is nearing retirement. Unexpected events do occur and threaten the viability of the business in the absence of a plan. This course discusses how planning should begin while the potential successors are children; they should be taught about family values, work ethic, money, work-life balance, and other important issues. These early conversations set the stage for potential successors to develop into capable leaders. Despite its importance, succession planning involves difficult (emotionally and financially) conversations and can often be delayed as a result. A good advisory team will prompt the planning process early and often.
