Webinar Description

The annual Susan J. McGregor Memorial Lecture on Women’s Leadership featured our keynote speaker, Georgia Lee Hussey, founder of Modernist Financial. Hussey’s address traces her path from sculptor and writer to CEO through pursuit of a bold hypothesis: that a company can thrive profitably by challenging conventional business mindsets, centering inclusivity, and embracing “beginner’s mind” over traditional expertise.

About the Speaker:

Georgia Lee Hussey is the founder and CEO of Modernist Financial, a B Corp wealth management firm dedicated to helping progressive people structure their wealth around their values. Her mission is to build a world where smart, creative people feel permission to enjoy today while providing a stable financial base for our common future.

Before launching Modernist, Georgia worked for national and local financial firms as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. She is a member of Oregon Community Foundation’s Metro Portland Leadership Council.

A seasoned keynote speaker, Georgia has sat on panels and led keynotes and workshops at goop’s In goop Health NYC, Portland Monthly’s WomanUp!, Oregon Community Foundation’s Women Give, Women's Entrepreneurial Day Oregon, and her alma mater, Sarah Lawrence College, as well as lecturing at Texas Tech University and Pacific Northwest College of Art.
