School Counselor Supervision Course II 2021-22

Ended Jun 30, 2022
5 credits

Full course description

Welcome to Site Supervisor Training II. Just like the first training, the goal is to provide you as the site supervisor with the tools to assist your supervisee in developing both professional and therapeutic competence. Training I covered the basics of supervision, which appropriately addressed the needs of a Practicum student. However, working with a counselor-in-training beyond their practicum and into their internship experience warrants additional training in both administrative and clinical supervision. Therefore, Training II is designed to build upon your present skill-set as a site supervisor and to expand your knowledge in order to meet the supervision needs of an intern. Such training meets requirements for site supervisors identified by CACREP as well as meets the ethical codes and standards for both the ACA and ASCA. Please note that the terms "supervisee" and "intern" will be used interchangeably throughout the training.

In the modules ahead, the following topics will be covered: (a) Relationship Building, (b) Evaluation, (c) Building a Program Vision, and (d) Ethical and Multicultural Considerations. Learning objectives and outcomes will be included in each module in order to provide a focus for learning. This course takes approximately 5 hours to complete and can provide 5 PDUs or 0.5 CEUs. It does not provide transferrable academic credit.
